Wilmington Flume,...

Between Wilmington and Lake Placid on route 86 is the Wilmington Flume where the Ausable River leaves its easy flowing fishing holes and plummets through a gorge.

Looking upriver from the bridge...

Looking down river into the gorge from the bridge...

Standing on the bridge looking directly below into the foaming water...

The heavy rains have made this place especially spectacular in recent days!

As much as I don't like driving through Wilmington Notch (ever), I do love the river and flumes there. Just absolutely gorgeous. I even have to admit that I really like High Falls Gorge. Great pix!

Thanks for the compliment, CM. With scenery like that it's not hard to get a good shot. Thanks to Mother Nature!

Beautiful shots of this gorgeous country, the water is amazing this late in the season. I only know that kind of water during the spring runoff. Diana
