A Closer Look?...

While experimenting with my camera trying to get some closeup shots I took the following photo. Yes, it's our common "weed" the Dandelion! When you look at it closely it is beautiful! Perhaps we should look more closely at other things around us!

Here is the fresh growth on an evergreen tree at the edge of my lawn...

And the closeup view...

The white Trillium is blooming at the end of my driveway.
And again,... a closer look!

It's been raining for a couple of days now, I wonder what will be blooming when the sun comes out? I will be looking more closely!

You are so right about looking closer. It's incredible what you can see! That's a very nice shot of the Dandelion!

Cedar, I LOVE your closeups and I LOVE dandelions! Everyone thinks I'm crazy. I even read a post about someone thinking of them as a nemesis. But I'll never forget the day Bo and I went into Golden Gate Park in San Francisco and the sprawling grass was covered in them. We had a ball. I'm like you. I'll take my beauty wherever it finds me and REVEL in it!!! You bring beauty into my life regularly just by being you. XO

I have come via "Living on the edge" I asked some questions about here Ferry post and she answered them on your violets post. Your header photo is fantastic i want to run the the end of that jetty and jump in. I love your close ups your comments on dandelions made me smile. We are in drought conditions so water for the garden is scarce here and the only things that seem to grow are the weeds. My husband who is not a gardener says who made the rules on what is a flower and what is a weed.

Beautiful pictures, isn't God's work fantastic? The dandelion is an amazing plant, to bad everyone does not appreciate what it has to offer.
Thank you for sharing a closer look.

Gorgeous photos, Cedar!
I can't wait until flowers, or even dandelions, start coming up here. :)

Very well done. The Dandelion is one of the best cases in point. We are taught to view such wildflowers as weeds to be sprayed, killed, etc. Seldom does anyone look at the flowers long enough to appreciate its beauty. I've seen carpets of dandelions that really look beautiful.

I just had to add something here--isn't it amazing that you have Triliums there in New York, and they grow just as thickly in the forests of Oregon?

I love it!

I love that you posted a pic of a dandelion close up... although I have battled my share of the suckers, I've always had a little guilty love of them too.... I think that, close up, they're beautiful. =)
