Will You Protect?...

Day before yesterday Libby Murphy of Twirl and Taste posted about an issue that has always brought me sadness. So today my "view" will look beyond the mountains, lakes and people of the north country and focus on that issue.

David Keith, an actor (Law and Order, An Officer and A Gentleman) and good friend of Libby's has taken up a cause.... PROTECT , The National Association to Protect Children. Unfortunately children are exploited every day. When we turn on the news we hear of the tragedies, but we seldom think about the fact that so many children are used for financial gain through the porn industry. That is a tough subject for me to write about as it gives me a physical reaction in the pit of my stomach to even think of it.

Please check out Libby's post from Wednesday,... "Quarterbacking The Noblest Sport In The World" and read of David Keith's effort and the organization now supported by people such as Tennessee Titan coach Jeff Fisher and singer Martina McBride. I'm joining PROTECT, will you?

We must do anything we can to help protect those who cannot protect themselves!

I'm with you, friend. I have recently helped some children who desperately needed someone to come along side. My heart was broken to see their pain.

The exploitation and abuse of children should NEVER be tolerated.

I worked in a child abuse clinic for five years....it is indeed a noble and wonderful cause to join.

I will take a look, thank you.
So sad that children need advocates to look after them, care should be alive and well in every cell of every person!

Thanks for sharing this horrific information, Cedar. I had no idea how huge this is. Jean

Thanks for the link. I'm headed there now. I think you know some of my history. This is right up my alley.

Hi Cedar, I read Libby's post also about this wonderful cause. We certainly all do need to protect our children. Thanks for continuing to get the word out.

Have a wonderful day and week. I'll post one more time in the morning--but then I'll be gone for about 9 days.

Hugs,
Betsy

I owned a daycare and preschool for twenty years and there is nothing more precious than a child. Childhood neglect and abuse should never be tolerated, ever!

I really also think this is a wonderful cause and after all that I had gone through as a little child, I am more in tune with causes like this and extremely supportive! Our children really do need to be protected...
