And The Winner Is?...

In my second post called "Steam's Up" I ended by saying that I would be conducting a Giveaway for a quart of our maple syrup.

Today was the drawing day and my 5th grader grandson did the honors of drawing the name. I held the basket and he looked the other way and drew....

Aleta of Hootin' Holler Musings is the winner! Congratulations Aleta!
So some of the maple syrup produced by my son and other family members will be on its way to eastern Tennessee. Aleta, just send me an email with your address, ok? I'm already planning another giveaway for this summer, so stay tuned!

Hi Cedar! (And congrats, Aleta you lucky thing!)

I have absolutely no idea why I'm not receiving your updates on your blog. I saw your comment and so I popped over here to thank you and see that I've missed a LOT. I'm absolutely sure that syrup was meant to be mine! lol (Sorry, Aleta.)

I didn't even know you all made syrup. Would you mind emailing me with prices, including shipping, if you do that sort of thing? We ONLY use pure maple syrup, and organic or naturally produced if we can get it. That's a bonus.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your sweet comment. And I'm sorry you walked through such a rough time but if that's who he was he SURELY didn't deserve YOU.

Ok, mystery solved. I had you on MY list to follow but I wasn't on YOUR list of followers. IT's good to be a genius. :) Sheeshhh.

Oh, Cedar, thank you, thank you -- I'm so happy that I won! Now I can't say "I never win anything," because up until now that has been the case! We're looking forward to enjoying that liquid gold on our morning pancakes! I too would like you to include some prices, including shipping, when you send me my prize. Does your company also have a website that people can order from?
Did I mention that my husband is from up there (Sacandaga Lake area) and he says that as a child he remembers one of the best benefits from living up there was that fresh maple syrup! Thanks again!

Glad you are excited about the syrup Aleta! You can send a hug to my grandson Ian who was excited to be the "hand" in the picture! We don't have a "company"... just my son and other family members. He keeps the syrup in his dining room on shelving. No web site. We're just an old-fashioned traditional operation. This has been a fun post for me,.. and fun to share with a friend. Wish I could give it all away to you all! :)

p.s. to Aleta's husband,... I went to 4-H Camp Sacandaga many moons ago! I think it was once an old CCC camp. Does he remember that?

Sweet. Hope your trees are healthy. Some Vermont friends have had some trouble (acid rain --> aluminum ions is the hypothesis).

Congratulations Aleta, what a nice thing to receive.

Do you sell your syrup, could you let me know how (and if), I can get some.

Thank you to all who have left such nice comments for my son's maple syrup operation. We are a very small, family effort. Our "customers" have been regulars here in the neighborhood for many years. To those that have asked, we do not have enough production to sell to more customers than we already have. A good place to purchase would be www.dakinfarm.com. It is only a few miles from here across the lake in Vermont. Thanks again everyone!
