Life Waiting,...

This morning on my way home from having breakfast with a friend, I drove by this river. I was thinking of all the life that is natural to a river and wetland area. For now it is silenced by winter's snow and ice. But in a few weeks the leaves will bud, the ferns will be loosening their curls, the "peepers" will be singing during the springtime evenings.

Ducks will once again be swimming along with a family of babies trailing behind ...

Perhaps even some people will enjoy the peaceful river as they float along in kayaks,...

It is a good time of year to think positively about the coming warmer seasons!

It's so interesting - I think most of us are busying ourselves with thoughts of Spring, and planning for warmer weather activities like planting and recreation. I bet you're already thinking of camping trips!

Hello from the land of 10,000 (frozen) lakes.

The promise of Spring is alive even in our snow and ice. I see cracks in the ice getting bigger every day, the days are getting longer (it's amazing how beautiful those extra minutes of sunshine are) and a few geese are in the sky.

Cedar, Even though it's still winter and we are all yearning for spring, WELL---that river is gorgeous right now!!!! I'm still one who enjoys winter.. Of course though, when spring gets here, I'll be very happy then also. It's summer that I don't care for!!!!

Hope you had a great day!
Hugs,
Betsy

I would love to go kayaking down that river (when it's thawed of course!) I hope you post photos when spring touches this area!

Your photos are beautiful and the look exactly like the scenery here with everything frozen. I've been so impatient for spring but I'm trying to relax and find the beauty in the winter that is here for so many more months. Your photos helped. Thanks for sharing them.
