Re-birth...

We've started a new year,... a re-birth.

And here at home I've been enjoying a re-birth of a different kind. On Columbus Day this past fall I lost my beloved camper in a freak accident on the interstate. No serious injuries, but both the tow vehicle and the camper were totalled.

December 28th I brought my new 2010 Rockwood camper home. It's the same floor plan and interior colors but overall it's nicer with more options.

For those who enjoy camping you will know what you are looking at... a full size frige! All the more room for ice cream!

The sofa-bed is much more comfy. This view shows the slideout in the "in" postion. After towing home on snowy roads I didn't want to abuse the mechanism which was covered with frozen slush.

I even bought a new rug and towels that match.

Now all I have to do is wait for spring. First camping trip will be Memorial Day weekend. Until then I'll just look at her and wish...

Wow Cedar! First of all, did I miss that this happened?? I'm so sorry!! How frightening.

But so glad you have a new "baby" and boy is she beautiful. Absolutely terrific. Can't wait for you to get underway. Ours is a 95 Nash and has served us well through two kids but it won't fit all of us anymore and TWM sleeps in the Expedition now. Roughin' it, you know. 14-yr-old boys are good at that. There was no way he was going in the bunk over me and Bo. I'd like to be thinner but not THAT way!

Congrats and nice to see you. :) (My stomach is gurgling. Gotta go. Wouldn't this be a great new slogan for colonoscopies? "Reign Supreme on your own throne with Movi-Prep!"

Cedar, She's gorgeous. I'm so sorry to hear about your accident. Glad YOU are okay though. I'm sure that you were very upset when you lost your other one on Columbus Day. If you blogged about it, I must have missed it... SO---I didn't know. I'm so sorry...

HOWEVER the new one is gorgeous. Looks like I could spend all spring/summer/fall in there. Beautiful!!!! Can't wait to hear more about your upcoming camping trips.

Hugs,
Betsy

That's not camping, that's glamping :D I hope that one day we will be camping in style like that!!

With a rig like that I don't think we'd wait until spring!! haha

Wayfaring,... been camping in tents and popups,... yup, "movin' on up!" Still have to wait for spring though, -- too much snow and ice here in the north country.

Coming from a camper person ... that thing is gorgeous! Really nice! I'm glad this all worked out so nicely and it all got taken care of. Rendezvous at Kushqua! I'll bring my canoe! =)

Small Pines.... that's a deal! I have a favorite site on Kushqua, will get back to you on that. We'll meet you there.

I LOVE your camper. I saw one on the highway that was like a little delivery truck all rolled into one. I think I'd be afraid to go camping on my own (I'm a chicken) and have never towed anything. To me "camping" is staying at the Holiday Inn. ;-) But seeing your camper makes me WANT to try camping.

Cedar, sorry about your accident but wow, what a nice replacement. I still do the tent thing however it is from the back of a car so there is no shortage of iderdown comforters, pillows and foamies to make a comfy nest! My dream is to have/find an VW camper which doubles as an affordable vehicle
on gas and is a great home on wheels....some day!
Smiles and blessings and warm thoughts for an early spring!

That looks like a sweet place to stay. So lucky that you escaped any injury with that accident. I'm your newest follower.

Thank you all for your kind words. I didn't post anything about the accident because I was so sad about it. I'd worked so hard to upgrade to the first one and then I lost it. But onward and upward and forever forward we go! Thanks again!
