Driving home today from a long weekend of camping these wind turbines stretched along this ridge in Clinton County for as far as the eye could see.
Some people here in the Adirondacks find anything that mars a ridgeline or view to be offensive. This sight, rather than offending my eyes, fills my heart with hope. I do not know about the quantity of production , the mechanics, or the merchandising of the power generated. But I do believe we need to explore more of this! I wish i could put one here on my hill!

You are right. This is a skyline that we need to look forward to. It represents clean enery
I totally agree with you. part of preserving the nature that we love so much depends on looking at alternatives for energy I think. and also for sources that do not give off polution as it gives us the energy that we need. Should that outweigh the negative impact of the view?
I've had similar feeling about those big windmills. At first I tended to resent them but now, like you, they fill me with hope! We have lots of them in the eastern part of Montana and lost more are being built now. It's a stark contrast to see the wind farms and at the same time see a train with 120 cars full of coal.
Interesting post, especially with all the talk we have been hearing the last couple weeks with the candidates and all. I need to learn more about wind. I know just enough about solar power to be dangerous, but I need to learn more about alternative sources.
I find the wind turbines strangely beautiful. I agree, to me they are an encouraging sight.
