On The Way Home,...

This evening I drove to Lake Placid to attend a gathering of Adirondack bloggers and tweeters. It was certainly nice to finally put faces with names on blogs I'd been reading. A great idea, a great party!

On the way home the light was at a very nice angle so I pulled into a favorite view. The cemetery in Keene, NY. It is situated high on a hill with a commanding view of the high peaks. Over the years trees have grown so the view is now not as wide. Somehow I think these old Adirondackers are enjoying their final resting place.

As I drove down the hill from the cemetery this old barn was keeping watch as the evening light fell.

The mist was settling over the pasture here,...can you see the cows in the distance?

What a nice ending to a nice day!

That's really beautiful countryside, Cedar! So different from what I see here.

I bet it is really nice to put faces with the names. I've only met one other blogger in in person so far, but we have become good friends. I will be able to meet another in about a week and am really looking forward to it!

Thanks for being a good blogger friend and coming around when my world feels so blah...

What a neat event last night! Awesome! I loved seeing folks in person. So cool. Glad you were there!

I was told by a Keene Valley resident that at some point recently, there was an effort to raise money to stabilize that old barn, save it for posterity.

Yeah! We got so lucky with the weather last night. It was pouring rain when I got off the exit for LP, but our Blogger/Tweeter Karma kept the rain off out heads so we could enjoy and chat. Great to meet you and look forward to doing it again soon!

I love the photos. The cemetery photo is just amazing, as is the barn. I especially the love mist setting over the mountain with the cows in the background. A perfect view to end what sounds like a perfect day.

Simply lovely. Oh, I feel more at peace just having gazed at the photos. Think I'll take a nap now and rest my tooth! So glad you had a good time at the "meet up." Wonder if there is anything like this is California? I'm gonna look into it. Thanks! ;)

New York is such a beautiful state. I have not been to the Adirondacks for years and years, but I'll always remember my visits there. Someday, I'll be back. I love Lake Placid.
