Dorothy Jane!...

I have been away, camping for several days at a bluegrass festival in Vermont. One of the attractions on Friday afternoon was "Open Stage" where lesser known acts can do two or three numbers. This young woman, still in her teens, is Dorothy Jane Siver from Crown Point, New York. She plays the fiddle like a wizard, sings like an angel! Watch out Alison Kraus, here comes Dorothy Jane!

Wow Cedar... I'm so jealous!!! I love bluegrass music. I need to write that young lady's name down---since I'll be hearing her on the radio before long!!!!

Glad you had a wonderful experience.
Hugs,
Betsy

I love bluegrass festivals. There is a hint of magic about them. Thank you for sharing this! (grin) (sigh) Oh, to go to a bluegrass festival--someday I will again.

I envy that trip! There was a folk festival in Butte a week ago that I heard was very good but I wasn't able to go. I do love bluegrass!

Hello this is Dorothy Jane's father (Ron). Thank you for the write up on your blog and making it possible for others to learn about Dorothy Jane Siver. We hope festival goers will contact the festivals and tell the organizers of the festivals to hire Dorothy Jane Siver on their schedule for the festival weekend. If you enjoyed her three song show, and if you would like to see her perform again, contact those festival organizers. By the way...Dorothy Jane Siver is 12 years....not quite a teenager yet. Hope to see you in the future, thanks again.
